Happy New Year!

With the snow falling outside the memories of the 2008 season warms the heart. We hope the memories you made at White Birch Village this past year are still lingering and will last a lifetime. As the cry of the loon, the sound of children’s laughter and the hum of the motor boat are quiet we look forward to helping you make many new memories in 2009.

As we look back over this past year it is always good to see all of you who have been vacationing with us season after season. We enjoy catching up on all that has happened in your lives. We enjoyed getting to know all of our new guests this past year. It is great seeing our White Birch Village family grow.

2008 Highlights

Treasure Hunts – This past year we held a treasure hunt every week and had anywhere from 11 – 28 kids of all ages who participated. It was fun watching the excitement as they tried to figure out the clues they found hidden around the Village. We’ll keep you guessing what this year’s activity will be.

Weekly Picnics – Our weekly picnic continues to be successful, which was proven this
year when one week we had 95 people attend. The picnics are a great place to meet new friends, have fellowship with those we already know and enjoy great food.

Library – Hurray! The library was finished the first week of September. It saw a lot of traffic in those last few weeks we were open. Our children and young readers section could use some updating. If you are doing any spring cleaning of books and would like to donate them to the library, our young guests would appreciate it.

Young Fishermen – This past summer had many of our young guests catching their first “Big Fish”. It is so fun to see the glimmer of excitement in their eyes and the thrill of having their picture on the bulletin board.

Photo Contest – We would like to thank all of you who submitted photos for our new colored brochure.  We have included a copy in this year’s mailing so you all could see the fruits of their labors. Except for the 3 cabin interior photos, all of the pictures were taken by our guests. We would like to congratulate Mark Matzuka for taking the winning picture for the front of the brochure.  Be sure to see the list of our guests whose photos were used in the brochure (located on the backside). We would also like to congratulate Jody Dingle for taking the winning photo for the front of the newsletter.
